Minion is available in five weightsregular. Robert Bringhurst’s typography-bible The Elements of Typographic Style uses Minion for its body copy. The design of Minion was inspired by classical typefaces of the late Renaissance.
This typeface is also called the duplicate of Times New Roman Font. Minion is an Old Style serif typeface designed by Robert Slimbach and released in 1990 through Adobe. This typeface can give an amazing classic vibe to the designs.
This typeface is a member of the Serif Font Family. When Typekit first launched in 2009 hardly anyone was using web fonts. Minion Pro Font has the most elegant and defined characters. Hopefully Typekit will fare better, especially since, small though the company may be, it's a big part of the reason web fonts have become so popular.
Indeed Adobe has a mixed track record with companies it has acquired, as anyone who relied on Macromedia FreeHand or Director can tell you.
